I really enjoyed this meandering TED talk titled “life lessons from an ad man,” which talks about the real benefits of perceived value … http://blog.ted.com/2009/10/life_lessons_fr.php

Mostly I like the story of a monarch using reverse psychology to popularize the potato.

Also, if I’m posting TED talks, I feel I should at least mention a talk by Paul Debevec got posted — it’s stuff I already knew about, but it’s nice to see graphics people showing up! http://www.ted.com/talks/paul_debevec_animates_a_photo_real_digital_face.html (It’s cool technology, but his demo for it is kinda boring …)
